About GSI

GSI is a theatre training program focused on learning, speaking, acting and performing Shakespeare.  It is for serious young actors, directors, artists and designers looking to expand their skills and engage in a process and production on a professional stage. Education Director and resident actor Steve Kidd and Education and Outreach Coordinator, Susie Schutt direct TWO full productions with professional goals and expectations. The program culminates in six public performances to be shared on stage at The Gamm Theatre. GSI is by audition only for High School students all over southern New England.

Gamm Summer Intensive 2013:

GSI Internships for College Students

College students are invited to apply to be intern instructors for the Gamm Summer Intensive (GSI) program.  We are seeking interns in all technical fields including Lighting Design, Set Design and Construction, and Costume Design. Interns are mentored by professionals in their field. This summer GSI presents:

Macbeth and As You Like It

Admitted students will receive training through Gamm Summer Intensive Workshops in areas including playwriting, improvisational acting, scene study, marketing, and stage combat taught by working professionals. Students will also attend rigorous daily rehearsals, performing in both Shakespeare productions. 

The four week program costs $695 and will begin on June 27th*, running 5 days a week, Monday through Friday from 10am to 5pm. Tech weekend will be held from 11am-5pm Saturday and Sunday July 13th and 14th. The public performances of Macbeth and As You Like It will be held the weekend of July 18th

*Please note: Due to snow days Gamm Summer Intensive will be starting on June 27th, later then originally publicized. The make up days for this delayed start will be the weekend rehearsals on July 13th and 14th. No student will be rejected from summer camp due to conflicted school schedules.
