About Gamm Summer Intensive (GSI)

GSI is a theatre training program focused on learning, speaking, acting and performing and is for serious young actors, directors, artists and designers looking to expand their skills and engage in a process and production on a professional stage. Education Director and resident actor Steve Kidd and Education and Outreach Coordinator, Susie Schutt direct a TWO full productions with professional goals and expectations. The program will culminate in six public performances to be shared on stage at The Gamm Theatre. GSI is by audition only for High School students all over southern New England.


College students are invited to apply to be intern instructors as part of Gamm Resident Intern Program (GRIP). Please visit the internship section of our website for more information and to apply.

Gamm Summer Intensive 2012:

High school students wishing to participate in the GSI 2012 must schedule an audition. Auditions will be held on April 28th and May 5th from 10am-6pm. Students are required to prepare one 3-5 minute contemporary or classical monologue. Returning students must audition.

The four week program costs $695 and will begin on June 25th, running 5 days a week, Monday through Friday from 10am to 5pm. Performances will be held the weekend of July 20th. Show information will be posted shortly.
