This is a class for experienced actors intending to better their skills, push their own boundaries, break old habits and be engaged in some very demanding scene work.  Previous work either on stage or in scene study classes with Mr. Sullivan is a prerequisite and admission is subject to approval by the instructor. This class culminates in a showcase evening of your rehearsed work. Learn by doing. Rehearsal outside of class time is required. Please prepare a monologue for the first day of class.

Gamm Summer Intensive (GSI) is a professional theater training program for high- school students focused on studying and performing Shakespeare. It is for serious young actors looking to expand their skills in a professional setting, with high goals and expectations. Campers attend rigorous daily rehearsals, participate in workshops taught by working theater professionals in various fields, and perform in two Shakespeare productions.

GSI is by audition only. To schedule a ten minute audition please email Kate Hanson at Students should prepare a 3-5 minute classical monologue to be performed at the audition and bring a head shot and resume (if available). Students will be notified by email regarding their acceptance to the program within the month following their audition.​Scholarships are available through our PLAY program.

GSI is also a training program for college-aged interns looking to explore the craft of directing, costume design, dramaturgy, or theater education in a professional theatre setting. Staff members receive hands-on experience with the theater arts through a fun and intense internship. Visit here to apply.

TEEN TECH TEAM: Join our Teen Tech Team to learn what happens backstage at a professional theater. Team members will be on call to help hang and focus lighting equipment, build and dismantle sets (a.k.a. strike), and other projects as needed. Learn how to safely handle and use tools, organize props and costumes, and get a behind-the-scene look at how plays are made!

GSI Internships for College Students

College students are invited to apply to be intern instructors for our summer acting camp. Interns are mentored by professionals in their field. Please fill out an application and send it in with a cover letter and resume. Click here for more information. Application Deadline: March 21st, 2014. We are no longer accepting applications. All positions have been filled.


Each performer is allotted a minimum of 3 minutes and a maximum of 5 minutes. We ask that all performers prepare a 1-2 minute monologue of their choice. Equity Performers only may choose to read from the script(s). The Gamm will provide sides and a reader. Callbacks for individual plays will be announced at a later date.

Please also provide a copy of your headshot/resume at the time of your audition. Two copies of each play will be available at StageSource's Boston office, 88 Tremont St., Ste. 714, Boston, Mass., at least 10 days before the audition for Equity members' perusal. Copies will also be available at the auditions.

Bring the funny.  Learn strategies and techniques of acting in a comedic scene or play. This class is formatted for actors of varying levels of experience through partnered scene work. Exciting contemporary plays and scenes suited to individual student needs will be rehearsed focusing on the nuts and bolts of comedy from text-analysis to developing on your feet verbal and physical timing. This class culminates in a showcase evening of rehearsed work. Learn by doing. Rehearsal outside of class time is required. *Class size limited to 12 students.
