GAMM AT A GLANCE
1984, October Seven graduates of Trinity Rep Conservatory*, calling themselves Alias Stage, begin performing as an artist collective out of the abandoned Riverside Mills in Providence’s Olneyville neighborhood.

1989, January Less than a month after their original space is destroyed by fire, the artists resume performances in nearby Atlantic Mills.
1994, September Backed by a newly formed board of directors, Alias Stage relocates to a garage space in Providence's Jewelry District where the company enjoys a growing reputation for quality acting, challenging plays and vivid Shakespeare productions.
1996-2000 Under Artistic Director Kate Lohman and Producing Director Nigel Gore, audiences triple and the theater offers its first Actors' Equity Association contracts to company members.
1998, July Alias Stage is renamed The Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre ("The Gamm") following a gift from the Feinstein Family Trust in honor of the late actress and arts supporter.
2002, October Outgrowing its 75-seat house and in need of financial reorganization, The Gamm announces a hiatus following the first production of its 2002-2003 Season, Tennessee Williams' Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
2002, November The board of directors hires Tony Estrella as artistic director, followed by Yvonne Seggerman as managing director.
2003, November The Gamm re-opens as a 135-seat theater in a refurbished annex of the abandoned historic Pawtucket National Guard Armory, with a holiday staging of Dylan Thomas' A Child's Christmas in Wales.
2005, September The Gamm opens Season 21 as a new member of New England Area Theatre (NEAT), a bargaining unit of the Actors Equity Association, the union of professional stage actors in the United States.
2008, May Boston Theater Critics Association honors The Gamm and playwright Paul Grellong with an Elliot Norton Award for "outstanding new script" (Radio Free Emerson, May 2007).
2009, May The Gamm wins Elliot Norton Award for "outstanding production by a small company" (Clifford Odets' Awake and Sing!, January 2008).
2010, May Celebrating its 25th anniversary season, The Gamm receives the Elliot Norton Awards' special citation for having "firmly established itself as a theatrical jewel in our region."
2012, November David M. Wax assumes administrative leadership as managing director.
2013, June Artistic Director Tony Estrella receives prestigious 2013 Pell Award for "Excellence in the Arts."
2014, November Oliver Dow hired as managing director.
2017, October Board of Directors announces that the theater will be relocating to Warwick, RI.
2018, September The theater relocates to 1245 Jefferson Boulevard, Warwick, RI in time for its 2018-2019 season, opening with Tennessee Williams' The Night of the Iguana.
2019, November Amy Gravell hired as managing director.
2023, August Jason Cabral hired as executive director.
