INTERNSHIPS

Interested in a semester or year-long internship?

Applications for internships are accepted on an ongoing basis for a fall or winter start. To apply, please complete the GRIP Application. Interns will have a flexible schedule, working weekly for 3-10 hours depending on need and availability. Interns will support the education department with administrative duties and have the opportunity to assist with and teach classes. Interns may also work with the development, marketing, and production departments as needed.

Want to intern for Gamm Summer Intensive CAMP?

Fill out the GSI Intern Application. Summer internships are offered from June to early August and follow our camp schedule. For more information about GSI, click here.

Being a part of GSI is unlike any experience that you will have anywhere else in the theater community. As a GSI intern you have an opportunity to work hands-on with young talented actors, have your artistic visions respected and included throughout the production process, and the opportunity to sharpen valuable skills such as community building, script analysis, set building, creative thinking, and teaching. GSI is more than a summer program for young actors, it's an opportunity to learn, grow, and be respected in the theater community.

high school STUDENTS

We offer teaching mentorship opportunities to high school students looking to hone their skills as arts educators. Additionally, the Gamm occasionally needs high school interns to assist with data entry, postering, etc. Please send an email to Jessica Corsentino at jc@gammtheatre.org expressing your interest.

frequently asked questions

How many interns do you have each year?

The number changes seasonally based on need.

Are interns assigned to a specific department?

Yes, however, The Gamm is a highly collaborative environment, so you may sometimes be asked to help in another department. Occasionally we hire a "floating intern" who is assigned projects on an as-needed basis.

Are internships full-time or part-time?

This depends on the type of internship, as well as your availability.

Do you offer housing or a stipend for season-long interns?

We do not provide housing and rarely provide any financial compensation. Because interns must often supplement their theater work with paid work elsewhere, we are happy to accommodate outside work schedules within reason. Interns may attend Gamm shows and take Gamm Studio classes at little to no cost (based on availability and class space).

Are interns eligible for paid part-time positions at the theater?

Paid positions are subject to availability. Seasonal paid work may include working as a production assistant, stage managing, or selling season subscriptions. Interns are not given preference over other applicants, however.
