REMEMBERING COLINE COVINGTON

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Coline Covington, longtime Gamm Board member, supporter, cheerleader and loyal friend.

Coline had served on the Gamm board since 1994 (back in the Alias Stage days!) making her tenure the longest in the history of the organization.

She served as Board President from 2004-2011 overseeing the most crucial period in the Gamm's history as we transitioned into a fully professional company becoming only the second year-round Actors Equity Association recognized theatre in Rhode Island. During Coline's tenure we established ourselves as a significant regional presence expanding our reputation into the rest of New England including garnering three successive Elliot Norton Awards from the Boston Theatre Critics.

After stepping down as President in 2011, Coline served as Vice President until 2019 and was still active in an Emeritus capacity.

She was a remarkable human being, with grace, class and wit to spare as well as a mentor to so many of us and a driving force behind the Gamm's incredible growth over the past two decades.

It is not an exaggeration to say that we would not be thriving in our new Warwick space without her. She was greatly loved by all of us and will be deeply missed.
