With great sadness we mourn the passing of Charles Cofone, long-time Gamm resident artist, composer and sound designer for more than two decades. Charles was a close colleague, good friend and mentor to many of us and an invaluable contributor to the success of so many of our productions going back to our days as Alias Stage.
His original compositions - from Peter Barnes' Red Noses to Brecht's Mother Courage, Shakespeare's Twelfth Night and As You Like It and, most recently, It's A Wonderful Life- along with designing sound for dozens of non-musical productions were testament to Charles' incomparable range and incredible technical skill.
He was a good friend and a near constant presence in the rehearsal room for 25 years. Charles will be remembered always for his dedication to the work, his kindness and impeccable artistry. We wouldn't be the theatre we are without him.
